Change for Guys Night!

Due to some conflicts (mostly Newark High making the state championship game) the guys night has been changed to:

Sat. Dec 3 from 3:00pm-8:00pm
At the Campus House (let me know if you need directions)
Bring drinks, snacks, games
Talk to Matt if you have questions

Tuesday Bowling and Wednesday Night

- Meet at the Newark Bowling Alley (in the Newark Shopping Center on Main Street) at noon. We'll get pizza and bowl probably two games. It's $3.50 per person/per game (we'll bowl two games at the most) and it's $3.50 for shoes. If you have questions please give Matt at call!

- Wednesday night there will be no class. We will meet in the multi purpose room.

Update

-> We made 36 Christmas gift boxes that were sent to the children in Haiti. Check out pictures from our day of making them HERE

-> Sunday Nov. 20th after morning service, we will go to the Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington and help pack Thanksgiving boxes. Bring a change of clothes and lunch. This will be from 1-4pm.

-> Wednesday Night Bible Study at 7pm in the 8th grade room. The new series will be "What Does It Mean To Be A Disciple of Jesus Christ?"

Things going on November 6-13

- Powerhouse in Fairfax, VA is this weekend (see the previous post for more details)

- Monday (Nov. 7) Pick up Basketball in the gym 7pm-9pm

- Wednesday (Nov. 9) Class: Read Chap. 3-4 for class

- Friday (Nov. 11) Teen/Campus Connection at the Campus House from 7pm-11pm. Cost: FREE! Pizza, activities, coffee, games, movies, singing, etc. Sign up on the youth board in the lobby. If you have a question leave a comment on here or you can email or call Matt.

- Sunday (Nov. 13) #1: There will be a meeting right after morning service about the Trip to New Orleans to help with Hurricane Relief over Christmas break. This will be in the 8th grade room. This trip is for high school teens, adults, and college students. See Matt Wilson or Dave Blackwell for questions.
#2: We will be putting the Christmas boxes to send to Haiti together in the multi-purpose room. Bring a sack lunch. We'll go purchase some of the gifts and return to the church building and wrap and pack the boxes. It would be helpful, if some people could bring someshoe boxes or boxes of similar size and some wrapping paper. See Mike Phillips for questions.

Powerhouse Information





Powerhouse 2005
Nov. 4-6
Fairfax, VA

Bring:
Bible and a good attitude
sleeping bag and pillow
clothes for 2 days (pack light)
toiletries, medicines, if needed
$20 spending $$- Friday dinner, Saturday dinner, Sunday lunch. We may take the subway into DC, or drive. TBA- if we go on the subway, fares will be $6/person.

Itinerary:
Friday:
Leave church building at 4:30 p.m.
Fast food stop in Baltimore
Arrive in Fairfax around 7:30

Saturday:
Follow schedule through lunch.
1:30 p.m.- go to the National Zoo for the afternoon. Dinner on our own, as a group, returning to the retreat by 7ish.

Sunday:
Worship- not sure if this will be 1st or 2nd service- usually we go to 2nd after 2 late nights!
Lunch- fast food somewhere on the way home
Return to church building- about 4 p.m.
